Reader of the week

Each week Gather Little by Little features the top commentator over the past week as “Reader of the week”.  It’s just a little way of saying thanks to my readers who make this blog great! Want to be reader of the week?  Go add some comments!

Current Week:

Reader of the week this week is Frugal Vet Tech!

Frugal Vet TechHow old are you? 25
Are you married?  Do you have kids? I am married.  Hubby and I have been married for four years.  No children yet, but we borrow neighbor children occasionally and recently became Aunt and Uncle for a second time, which is very exciting.  We have a dog - a Rough Collie (Lassie dog) - and some fish.  When I was growing up, I raised goats and a whole host of other critters.  When we finally get a chance to move out of the city, I’ll be getting myself some goats again.
What are your hobbies? Reading, spending time with my family, working with animals, being outside, veterinary (and human) medicine, playing piano, plants/gardening, aquariums, scrapbooking, working on our budget, tutoring, and doing homework (not so much a hobby, but certainly something I spend a good chunk of my spare time on!).
How long have you been reading Gather Little by Little? I don’t remember exactly, but I’m thinking I started reading in late 2007 or early in 2008.

What is your favorite financial tip? Only one?  Read about finances and budgeting.  See what other people are doing, how they’re budgeting, how they manage their money, what tips and tricks they us, and then take what you think will work for you and try it out.  If it doesn’t work, try something else.  There are so many websites and blogs that are full of information - take advantage of them (that doesn’t just apply to personal finance either - you can use it for almost anything else, too).

From Glblguy: Frugal Vet Tech,  thanks so much for reading and for taking the time to comment.  Everyone, make sure you head over and subscribe to her blog!

Week of 9/13/2008:

Reader of the week this week is Kevin from No Debt Plan.

How old are you? 24
Are you married?  Do you have kids? I’ve been married about one year and eight and a half months. We don’t have kids, but we do have a puppy that is enough of a handful for us right now.
What are your hobbies? This is going to sound cheesy, but personal finance is my hobby. It’s why I blog about it. I help my friends set up budgets and take questions from them on various topics. I also love PC gaming (Team Fortress 2 primarily), and technology in general. I also have a 1978 BMW 320 sitting in the garage that one day — when I find some time — I am going to restore.
How long have you been reading Gather Little by Little. Oh man, it’s been quite a long time. I want to say almost since the beginning. (From glglguy: Kevin’s first comment on Gather Little by Little was on August 3rd, 2007 - He corrected my grammar…lol)

What is your favorite financial tip? Read, comment, and subscribe to my blog, No Debt Plan. :) Other than that it’s tough. Spend less than you earn. Setup a budget (it isn’t that hard). Start investing early so compound interest works on your side.

From Glblguy: Kevin thanks so much for reading and for hanging out here on Gather Little by Little since almost the beginning.  Very glad to have you.  I’ve talked with Kevin a lot via email, he’s a great guy with a great blog, so make sure you head over and subscribe to his blog.
