Gather Little by Little is a personal finance blog with a Christian perspective. It’s about growing wealth in accordance with Proverbs 13:11 - Dishonest money dwindles away, but he who gathers money little by little makes it grow. Most people believe that becoming wealthy happens overnight. These same people believe that if you can’t gain wealth quickly, they’ll never be rich. The Bible tells us that this is far from the truth. Here we’ll focus on topics related to growing wealth using common sense biblical practices and by gathering money, little by little.

Who is glblguy?

The owner and author of this blog. I’ve written numerous technical and business documents within my primary profession and have written on blogs such as I’ve Paid For This Twice…, Lazy Man And Money, and Financial Dominance.

Outside of writing for Gather Little by Little, I work for a top 5 financial institution, and have been working in the financial industry for more than 15 years. I am not financially rich or wealthy (although that is going to change), and I work a 40 (ok, 40-50) hour a week, 9-5 job just like most of you. I am also a husband to my beautiful wife of 15 years and father to six wonderful children.

Personal Testament

I have been a Christian since 1990 and was introduced to Christ and the significance of salvation by my wife (then my girlfriend). We had only been dating a short time when she informed me in a nice way that if I wasn’t going to attend church that she wasn’t sure how much of a future we had together. So I figured, I could stand an hour of church a week so to stay with her.

Little did I know that a year later I would learn about salvation and find the one thing I could never put my finger on, but knew I was missing in my life, faith. I have never looked back, and grow with God daily.

Why did you start Gather Little by Little?

In November of 2006 we had a major life crisis and are currently spending time in the valley on our way to the mountain of God. Funny thing about the valley, it’s a terrible place to be when you are there, but you learn more than you ever thought possible.

I have learned an enormous amount about myself, my family and in particular about our financial life and the financial life God wants us to lead, and how far from that path we had strayed. As a result, I wanted to share what I’ve learned with others to offer hope for those who are in the valley with us, and to help those that will be there one day to deal with the financial strain the valley can cause. This is the inspiration behind Gather Little by Little, to help others…Christian or not.
