Merry Christmas!

Christmas morning at the Gather Little by Little household

Just a quick post to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Our kids had mercy on us this year and allowed us to sleep in until 7:30! Something about Christmas morning that always amazes me is how quickly it’s over. Within 1/2 an hour all of the presents were open and the kids were off and playing. Of course my wife and I had to assembly a few things and remove the packaging from a few items which kept us busy for a bit.

But now everyone is off and playing, I’m writing this, my wife is reading a book and the smell of Christmas dinner is beginning to flow through the house. We’ll spend the remainder of the afternoon relaxing and enjoying the day. We’ll eat Christmas dinner, and then read the original Christmas story found in Luke 2:1-20.

Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.

I’m taking the next few days off, but I’ll be back on Monday. I uploaded a few more pics of our Christmas morning over on my flickr page as well.

Merry Christmas!

    For unto us a child is born,
    To us a son is giv’n;
    The government shall rest on him,
    Th’ anointed one from heav’n.
    His name is Wonderful Counselor,
    The Mighty God is he,
    The Everlasting Father,
    The humble Prince of Peace.

    As one of five children, your photo reminds me of my childhood! Now, with one 22-year old, I have to get him up. Lol – oh for the days!

    Really cute, REAL pictures of the kids and Mom. But I noticed your very large tv seeming to sit precariously atop that little tv table. I can’t believe a little one hasn’t knocked that baby over. (That would have happened so quick in my home when my boys were young) Enjoy your day and Merry Christmas to you and yours!

    @Pamela – Not near as precarious as it looks in the picture, plus the TV is too heavy to be knocked over. It’s in a corner, so out of the “travel path” anyway.

    That TV is one of those big mistakes from my past. Bought of credit when I didn’t have the money :-( It’s paid for now though.
