What's the Dillyeo?

By glblguy

Like most everyone I love finding something I’ve been wanting or needing on sale or at a greatly reduced price. For this reason I visit Woot.com almost daily. I seldom buy anything though, as I work hard to avoid impulse buying. When they have something that’s on my list, I’ll buy in a heart beat. Woot is great, but they only offer one item per day. I wanted other options. I came across Dillyeo.com the other day. Yes, Dillyeo….as in “What’s the Dillyeo?”

What is Dillyeo?

Dillyeo is very much like Woot. They state: “Dillyeo is a daily deal website that sells one cool item a day for the lowest price on the net.”  The website is pretty simple and straight to the point. The daily deal makes up for a majority of the main page and contains a good description of the product. The best part, no flashing yellow lights and no silly story with the product specs embedded somewhere in the middle. The site allows customers to make comments on the featured product so you can see others perspectives and thoughts. They even show comparable prices from other sites under the “What’s the Dillyeo with this?” section.

Rewards for telling your friends

Like Dillyeo and want to tell your friends? If you do, they’ll reward you with incentives, including dillyeo gift cards, free gas redemption certifications and prizes. Dillyeo will automatically retrieve your Gmail or Plurke contacts for you.  This isn’t an option I would use personally but some might find it useful.

Daily Raffle

Dillyeo also has a daily raffle where they give away one item of the day to a lucky winner. All you have to do is provide your email address which they guarantee isn’t used for other purposes. I signed up, but haven’t won just yet, of course I’m not holding my breath either.

Give it a try and let me know what yo think. Are you already using it? Would love to hear your thoughts on it.

I’d never heard of this site. I checked it out and I appreciate the clean interface. Thanks for sharing!

cool! I’ve been a Wooter for a few years, and I’ve seen a couple other similar sites. There’s one that has a joke of the day associated with it, but I suddenly can’t remember the site. Oh, well.

Dillyeo looks pretty good. The incentive program is interesting, though, like you, I’m not sure I would use it.

I’ve got to disagree with your lack of enthusiasm on Woot’s presentation, though. I enjoy the funny descriptions, and the tech details are always listed in bullet form at the bottom. The humor of that site is one of the draws … part of it’s value proposition, I suppose. And though I’m sure you know it already, the flashing yellow lights are only there for “Woot-offs,” where they break from the standard and offer multiple deals in succession for a couple days.

This is the first I’d heard of both websites, so I decided to check them both out. I have to say as far as site layout goes, I like woot better. But as far as the deals, neither one of them blow me away. I may check out these sites on occasion, but I think there’s probably better options out there.

I giggled when I saw the title of your post :-)
My first thought was … it’s my son!
His name is Dillon & I called him Dillyeo when he was a toddler and preschooler (a long time ago, he’s now 24 years old.)
Thanks for bringing a warm fuzzy to my day!!!

What’s the main difference between dilleyo and woot? Would you recommend one over the other?

I’ve seen loads of posts and buzz around this site recently, just out of interest do they do deals for us Brits over in the UK? I only ask because I think it’s a great concept

I have made a few purchases from Dillyeo, and their prices and delivery timeframe are exceptional.
I have had problems with two purchases, and when I wrote to Customer Service for help, I was completely and utterly blown off by them.
The first request for help, on a DVD player that arrived with old food stuck to the surface, and didn’t play, elicited a “not our problem” response. Fortunately the MANUFACTURER of the unit replaced it, even though it actually was NOT their problem.

The second request for help (made twice) was totally ignored.

I can’t support a vendor that doesn’t care at all about the customer, after the sale is made, and I’m honestly sorry that things turned out this way.

Just noticed that they have an “F” rating from the Better Business Bureau….I guess I’m not the only one they stiffed…..

I do not recommend using Dillyeo, they took a very long time to send my order. I have a mixed review because I placed two different orders. The single thing I ordered came fast without a problem. On the other hand I also put a large order together and something held it up. The order eventually came but all my present were late.

  12. Teddy Coomer Says:

This website sucks, they shipped me only half of my products without warning. It took them 10 days to actually get my shipment out, and the shipping cost was outragous, for only a plastic bag, which lead to a few damaged items. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BUYING FROM DILLYEO, unless you enjoy stress!!!

  13. Chuck Says:

I bought from Dillyeo twice, terrible customer service and shipping time. Inexpensive, but no CS.

  14. Jamie Says:

    HORRIBLE!

  15. Tammy Says:

The worst customer service I have ever had! Not worth the risk! I have been trying to work with them since June 2010. I bought a computer that crashed after a few months. They said they would ship me a system restore cd. After several months of “you should have received it by now” they finally agreed to take it back and put in a different hard drive. Also I upgraded to a burner and that was never installed. I shipped it to them the end of September. When I call I get the voice mail box is full. Finally got a person and was told here is a tracking number, it will go out today. Now a week later tracking number shows it has never been received by UPS. When I called Dillyeo they hung up on me!
BBB of Illinois gives them an F rating! Beware!

  16. Andrei Reounov Says:

Worst customer service ever!! The order is not delivered on time. I called the customer service to resolve the issue and they hang up on me 2 times. Very disappointing!!!
