I just got married three weeks ago. I think the most important thing is for the couple to decide what is important to them. There are lots of ways to save money. We didn’t give out favors or do fancy programs. We let our budget dictate what we did. Also, we saved up so that we could pay for everything in cash and not have post-wedding debt hanging over our heads.

I think too many couples feel pressured to do the traditional wedding things like the bouquet toss, favors, etc. When it comes down to it, it’s your wedding and you should do what makes you happy whether it’s a big, formal affair or a simple backyard ceremony.

Everything goes by so fast. It’s a once in a lifetime event (hopefully!), and it should be special to the couple.

These are great tips (though I’m by no means an expert since I’ve only been to three weddings for friends and family so far in my life). Summer weddings also seem to be popular.
