Hope you have a great time in the mountains.

Nothing beats being with family on fathers day, it’s always difficult trying to juggle a busy work routine with family live. I completely understand what you mean, too - It's just too weird being home when he's not and I terribly miss having someone to eat dinner with and ask me how my day was. All I get is a cat that meows too much because I haven't been home all day and he wants some attention/water/love/petting time/playing time.
At the very least, the absence definitely reminds you to be thankful for the time you *do* have together. It's reminded me of all the time that we had before he left that I took for granted while I had it. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who enjoys spending time with my family more than having it all to myself. :)

I sure hope absence makes the heart grow fonder, I’m only a few days into my four month separation from my husband and I’m hating it so far. Makes them more appreciated when they return.

Sometimes we don’t miss family until they are missing for a few days.
