It has been a few years, but I found that the prices were different (and higher) when you shopped through their links than when you shopped directly from certain websites. Beware!

ebates is a great site for saving money on regualr purchases and well worth the small amount of hassle required.

I’ve used Ebates since 2001 and received nearly $500 in rebate checks since then. I buy as much as I can via the Internet. If it’s a major purchase like a computer I shop the prices first then link through Ebates when I’m ready to buy. The hardest part is remembering to link. Sometimes I get busy and want to get the shopping out of the way only to realize that if I’d gone through Ebates I could have saved an additional amount. After all these years it’s finally getting to be second nature to check prices and then link through to the merchant before I place my order. We’re only half way through this quarter and my check is already at $49! Plus, we’ve realized significant savings by buying everything from over-the-counter meds to necessary electronics to used textbooks over the Internet. It’s a good system.

You sound just like me. On my birthday, my wife took me to Kohl’s for a shopping trip. I hadn’t done any clothes shopping in 2 or 3 years. I forget. Anyway, if it weren’t for her, I’d still be wearing outdated and worn-out clothes.

Now bookstores on the other hand…

I LOVE Ebates. I’ve earned over $33 so far. :) And not on things that I wouldn’t have ordered … things that I needed or that hubby wanted. If I’m going to buy things anyway I may as well get an extra discount refunded back to me. =)

I’ve been using Ebates for over a year now, and have saved well over $100 since I started. That’s pretty good, considering they were all purchases I was planning making anyway! :)
