Sunday Lyrics – My Savior My God

Ever find yourself wondering why things are happening in your life? Do things just not seem to make sense? Every said to yourself, or even out loud “God, what in the world are you doing?” or “God, why are you allowing this to happen?“
As I am sure you know, you aren’t alone. God’s plans for our lives are sometimes unclear, but as Aaron’s lyrics say “I am not skilled to understand, what God has willed what God has planned“. God’s plans are often beyond our comprehension; however He is our savior, and would never leave us or forsake us. Just listen and pray and God will lead you. “Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.“
Below are the Lyrics to Aaron Shust’s song My Savior My God from his debut CD, Anything Worth Saying. You can see and hear Aaron sing it live on TBS Storyline. Warning: You won’t be able to get this beautiful song out of your head!
I am not skilled to understand
What God has willed, what God has planned
I only know at His right hand
Stands one who is my Savior
I take Him at His word and deed
Christ died to save me; this I read
And in my heart I find a need
Of Him to be my savior
That He would leave His place on high
And come for sinful man to die
You count it strange, so once did I
Before I knew my Savior
Chorus (2x’s)
My Savior loves, My Savior lives
My Savior’s always there for me
My God: He was, my God; He is
My God is always gonna be
Yes, living, dying, let me bring
My strength, my solace from this spring;
That He who lives to be my King
Once died to be my Savior
That He would leave His place on high
And come for sinful man to die
You count it strange, so once did I
Before I knew my Savior
Chorus (2x’s)
(Instrumental)
Chorus: (2x’s)
My Savior loves, My Savior lives
My Savior loves, My Savior lives

LOVE this one! It’s been a while since we’ve sung it at church. I’m going to have to bug hubby to put it in a worship set soon. :)

Thanks for the great lyrics this week. It can be hard to understand sometimes why God allows us to go through suffering, but through it all its comforting to know that he’s there with us especially in the difficult times .

Great song! I’ve heard this before, but didn’t know who sang it. I think it probably would be a good one to sing in church. Have you heard of “Let the Worshippers Arise” by Phillips, Craig & Dean? We just recently discovered this one…though I think it’s older (2004). It’s been great for worship service.
Again, thanks for the lyrics, you have good taste in music:)
