Low interest rates hook you in…then, a few months later they’re hiked up to unbeleivable 25-30% interest! that happend to us once. a recent news article in Australia forecasted that many people in credit card debt will never be able to get out of it. i think these companies/banks are evil.

Interestingly, in the 10+ years I’ve used credit cards, the only problem I’ve ever had is spending too much. But that’s more *my* problem than anything to do with the card… the card just made it easy. I’ve had cards change terms on me, which is why I always read what they send. I’ve had them move due dates, which is why I always read what they send. I’ve had grace periods shortened, which is why I always read what they send. None of this has ever caused me a problem… probably because I always read what they send. They’re only *evil* if you a) lack discipline, or b) don’t like to read. Credit cards aren’t supposed to be *fun*….

I have stopped using my credit cards and only use my debit VISA. It works just fine, even on vacation, and don’t miss the loan shark tactics of the credit card companies.
