Sunday Lyrics – Cinderella

13 years ago we decided to have our first child. He was the little boy we both wanted. A year and a half later, another little boy arrived and so the cycle began. We ended up with five wonderful little boys and while we love them dearly, there was something missing in our life…a little girl. We looked at a number of options, and after talking with our boys, we decided to adopt a little girl from Guatemala in 2006. She is almost 2 now, and has been a blessing beyond words in all of our lives. She is spoiled beyond spoiled, and not because of my wife and I, but because of our boys!
Steven Curtis Chapman is a Christian singer, songwriter, husband and father to 6 children, 3 of them adopted little girls. He wrote this song about his little girls and it really hit home with my wife and I. We too watch our little girl “spin and sway to whatever song plays” each night and dread the thought that one night the clock will strike midnight.
Here are the lyrics to Cinderella from Steven’s hit CD This Moment. Here is a link to the video where you can listen to Cinderella. Cherish each moment with your children, there come a day when the their rooms will be empty and the sounds of their little feet running through the halls will be gone.
She spins and she sways to whatever song plays
Without a care in the world
And I’m sitting wearing the weight of the world on my shoulders
It’s been a long day and there’s still work to do
She’s pulling at me saying “Dad I need you!
There’s a ball at the castle and I’ve been invited and I need to practice my dancin’
“Oh please, Daddy, please!”
Chorus:
So I dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
‘Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh I will dance with Cinderella
I don’t want to miss even one song
‘Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she’ll be gone
Verse 2:
She says he’s a nice guy and I’d be impressed
She wants to know if I approve of the dress
She says, “Dad the prom is just one week away
And I need to practice my dancin’
“Oh please, Daddy, please!”
Chorus:
So I dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
‘Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh I will dance with Cinderella
I don’t want to miss even one song
‘Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she’ll be gone
Verse 3:
But she came home today with a ring on her hand
Just glowin’ and tellin’ us all they had planned
She says, “Dad the wedding’s still six months away but I need to practice my dancin’
“Oh please, Daddy, please!”
Chorus:
So I dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
‘Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh I will dance with Cinderella
I don’t want to miss even one song
‘Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she’ll, she’ll be gone

It does go by quickly. My little princess is getting closer to the prom and farther from the make believe every day. Sad, happy, and scary at the same time.

We are have four boys and are feeling the need for a girl in the family. Your story and lyrics add more food for thought and dreaming.
Children are a blessing and adoption is a wonderful way to build a family!

Prom is a special day in every girls life. I had spent months preparing for that day. From my dress, shoe makeup etc everything I had planned well in advance. And so I had plenty of time to plan stuff and look my best :)

if in future I can see, that’s how I do? Then how can I do? Until I do not hesitate to put this post Louzhu collection. My heart began to calm down before the kind of excitement down. However, I immediately thought that such a good post, if someone can not see, then do not be a waste of effort Louzhu? After bitter ideological struggle, I finally determined I had to put this post up top, up top! Top of everyone to have seen so far.
