The Money Saving Methods Report
By glblguy
One of the topics I discuss often here on Gather Little by Little is saving money. Well, I received an email the other day from a gentleman named Joel who contacted me his web site. He felt the information on his site was similar to information I publish here on Gather Little by Little and that I might be interested in taking a look at what he had to offer. Normally I wouldn’t respond to emails like this as they are generally spam or some type of scam. But the email was very personal and Joel seemed sincere so out of curiosity I responded.
Turns out Joel was true to his word. He has written a 29 page report called The Money Saving Methods Report that contains a wealth of easy to implement money saving tips and techniques. From reading his site, Joel lived on a paycheck of $181.68/week and managed to save money. He shares his saving tips in his report and shows readers how to save money eating out, buying groceries, clothes, and even saving on taxes. His report also points you to resources that will further increase your saving ability, including a few that will help you earn money.
The Money Saving Methods Report is well written and easy to read. His tips are straight forward and easy to implement and use. More experienced savers and people living frugally will find the report of less value. If you aren’t an experienced saver or find yourself struggling to save, I’d recommend you give the The Money Saving Methods Report a read.

Is it to late for me to cast my vote for “Gibble” as a nickname?
on a serious note…i’d just like to thank you for the kind words about my report. I couldn’t agree more with your assessment of it. I know that there are some “hardcore” frugal money saving types out there. Im sure they could use a refresher from a report like this and maybe pick up a tip or two that would help them.
If you are the type of person that keeps soap bar bits and combines them over time to make a new bar of soap…this is not the report for you.
My main goal with this was to give people real actionable tricks to work with that can make changes on almost all areas of spending today. I think that was accomplished and I am very glad you agree.
I dont think i mentioned it to you but i have some extra stuff in the works for the owners section that will be live soon. Im not here to pitch anything so I wont go into that stuff obviously.
I just wanted to say thank you for the review and for the new found friendship.
Thanks again
joel

I guess a money saving method is to not use a spell checker.
January 13th, 2008 at 11:25 am
Did I misspell something?
January 13th, 2008 at 11:38 am
Oh no, not you. The site you linked to had misspellings all over the place. I can tolerate a few errors once in a while, especially in places where I am not paying for something, but when a page designed to sell me something has errors all over it I am much less willing to part with my money.

Ah…ok. I don’t really notice stuff like that. I’ll pass it along to Joel. I don’t think that was one of the tips though ;-)

Joel,
I need help. I ordered the booklet by paypal and got a notice immediately that there were problems with the order. I checked my paypal and the money had already been subtracted. I want to make sure I get this.
thanks,
Becky

Hi Becky! Sorry to hear you’re having problems. I forwarded your comment to Joel. I’m sure he will reply soon. If not, please let me know.

Hi Becky
I already sent you an email about this before “glblguy” notified me. I try to stay on top of things as best I can, when my daughter lets me :)
The problem is a strange little thing that happens on paypal’s end of things. Its a one in several hundred orders type of thing I have found. I love using paypal as a processor for convenience to my readers but every now and then something hokey will happen with them like this.
I did make sure today that everything was holding up under all the stress being put on the site the last few days and everything looks good so it will be resolved quickly.
feel free to reply to the email I sent you if there is any confusion at all.
thank you and enjoy the report.
Joel

Not to sound to skeptical, but did you actually read the book? The site reads just like all the other scam sites I read about earning money from home and losing weight.
January 17th, 2008 at 3:34 pm
@Jon – Great question, and I absolutely read it…twice actually. I would NEVER recommend or promote a product to my readers that I hadn’t used, read or personally own. Also, with the exception of my adense ads, I approve every ad on this site and in many cases use those products too (like Turbotax, You Need a Budget, Mvelopes, and Mint)
As I said in the review, if you know the basics of saving money and have experience saving and being Frugal, it’s probably not for you. But if being frugal and finding creative ways to save money is a new concept, it has some really great ideas and links to some good information.
I’ve received feedback from a few readers that purchased and liked it. So, yep it’s Glblguy approved ;-)
Thanks Jon for being forward enough to ask that question. I’m guessing many other readers wondered the same thing.

Jon, I agree. I half expected to see this guy when I read that site…

Ah nuts, I guess it won’t let me add a picture of matthew lesko

Never tried to add an image tag to a comment…not sure if WordPress will let you do that….
Just ad a link…

Hi Jon and Justin.
thanks for the feedback. so you know, every word of that page is true. i have even been looking for old pay stubs from that job i had when all of this got started.
im sorry you didn’t take the time to actually read the info before commenting negatively about it. no, i dont own and jackets with question marks on them either. I just live within my means and save a greater percentage of my income than most people do.
If either of you would like a review copy so you can make an informed critique of my writing then please contact me and i will provide you with one.
thanks
Joel

Joel: Thanks for your reply, I went back to your site and see you have done some editing to it to eliminate some of the errors. At the time I made my initial comment I did read the entire marketing page you have there, and the number of errors really made me sceptical of paying money for something where even the marketing page was poorly written.
If you’d be willing to send me a review copy I would be more than willing to provide feedback to you. You can contact me via my name, justin, at the domain for my site, nitsuj.net
Thanks for following up.
