The Carnival of Personal Finance...

The Dividend Guy has put up the 137th Edition of the Carnival of Personal Finance. Check it out! One of my posts made the cut, and I’ll throw up some other quality ones I come across when I get a minute today.
Some posts I found interesting:

I remember hearing someone talking about the improvisation of music. He noted (pun intended) when one drives a car it is never perfect, the wind blows the car you correct, a bump in the road knocks the car off course and you correct, and so on. The observation is we are always correcting but in doing so we keep the car on the road and end up at our destination. While he was talking of music you take the same idea and apply to finances.

Your image is well chosen as it appears to be from a nautical setting. When sailing against the wind in sailboats one has to tack and jibe, while the direction is rarely straight at the destination eventually the boat arrives.

Very inspiring post, Gibble, thanks. I sometimes worry that by blogging about things I'm putting myself under undue pressure to be perfect. But it's a learning process and sometimes all the choices carry risks.

As you say, general direction is forward! :)

Wonderful insight Ron. I've always said I learn far more from my mistakes than I do my successes.

Yes, we DO make mistakes. Boy, do we ever make mistakes.

But a mistake only hurts you if you don't learn something from it. The most successful people on earth didn't get that way by never making a mistake, they got that way by learning from all their mistakes, failures, bankruptcies, and boneheaded decisions.

Mistakes give birth to experience and experience gives birth to wisdom. The exciting part of this equation is that anyone can jump into the middle part (experience) by tapping into other people's experiences.

That's the great thing about blogging. I can share my experiences with hundreds of people and they can share their experiences back with me. Where else can you get that kind of light speed acceleration into experience and wisdom?
