Sunday Lyrics – Where There is Faith
By glblguy
4Him has probably been one of the most successful and long lasting groups in the contemporary Christian music family. They formed in 1989 after coming up with the idea for a 4 man group while sitting at McDonald’s one day. Their final tour was in 2006 resulting in 15 years worth of hits. Each member decided to go there own way and do something different.
My personal favorites from them: Where there is faith, Measure of a man, The Basics of Life, and For Future Generations. Here are the lyrics Where There is Faith, originally recorded in 1990 but re-released on their latest and last CD, Encore:
I believe in faithfulness
I believe in giving to myself for someone else
I believe in peace and love
I believe in honesty and trust but it’s not enough
For all that I believe may never change the way it is
Unless I believe Jesus lives
CHORUS:
Where there is faith
There is a voice calling, keep walking
You’re not alone in this world
Where there is faith
There is a peace like a child sleeping
Hope everlasting in He who is able to
Bear every Burden, to heal every hurt in my heart
It is a wonderful, powerful place
Where there is faith
There’s a man across the sea
Never heard the sound of freedom ring
Only in his dreams
There’s a lady dressed in black
In a motorcade of Cadillacs
Daddy’s not coming back
Our hearts begin to fall
And our stability grows weak
But Jesus meets our needs if only we believe
CHORUS

Cool. I saw Mark Harris live last weekend. Every year a local church puts on a large Christmas show, and he was the headliner. There was a 100 person choir, the church’s live band, a small orchestra, the church’s lead singer’s and a few skits interspersed with a full audio-visual show. There were a lot of traditional songs performed and Mark Harris sang a few 4Him songs and some of his solo work. It was a very impressive show – and free too! :)

Wow, that’s great. They have some traditional songs on their CDs as well. Sounds like a great concert.
Sidenote: Last year, we a local Christian bookstore held a concert. They didn’t advertise the headliner. Thinking it would be a local band we didn’t go. Turned out it was Casting Crowns :-(

Where There Is Faith is my wife all-time favorite song, I think. We’ve got it on karaoke, too, but that’s another story entirely :) It’s a great song and a great group.
