Sunday Lyrics – Praise You in the Storm

I’ve been contemplating for a while having a Sunday post were I shared some of my favorite scripture versus. I hadn’t done it yet as a number of other Christian blogs do the same thing. While I believe this is a great thing to do, I wanted to be a little different.
I’ve decided instead to share lyrics from some of my favorite contemporary Christian music artist. Let me know your thoughts on this and if this is something you enjoy reading or not.
Here’s a song from Casting Crowns, Praise You in the Storm (affiliate link):
I was sure by now
God You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say “Amen”, and it’s still rainingBut as the thunder rolls
I barely hear Your whisper through the rain
“I’m with you”
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes awayI’ll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I’ve cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this stormI remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry
You raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can’t find YouAs the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
“I’m with you”
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes awayI’ll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I’ve cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this stormI lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth
I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and EarthI’ll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I’ve cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I love, love, LOVE this song!
I like the idea of song lyrics for Sunday posts. On my personal blog, I often post YouTube videos of my favorite worship songs on Sundays.

Great, glad to hear you like the idea. I had thought about posting the video, but was concerned whether it was legal or not.

Great idea. I was just thinking this morning how much I love music. How it has such an amazing impact on my life and how I always hear the right song just when I need it. It’s so easy to praise God in the good times, but it’s so important that we praise him in the storms of life.

Thanks Amanda. It’s had an amazing impact on mine as well. The artists who sing these songs truly have a ministry.

I really like this song…we sang it in our church today. Good idea to post lyrics on Sunday…I can hear the songs while I’m reading…it also is a song that ministers so well in the hard times we sometimes face. This is the best way to get through the storms, to praise Him…I sure do!

I agree with Lee and Amanda. I keep “Sunday” songs in my head as a way to keep Jesus in my heart throughout the day. I like CC’s East and West too.

Love this song!!! Casting Crowns and Mercy Me are two of my favorite groups. I agree that it is important to keep ourselves reminded of how blessed we are and what a truly wonderful God we serve. I look forward to future lyrics!!
