We ourselves dont even mess with the yard. We actually just pay a neighbor to mow it(its a small portion of grass compared to other yards), and aside from his work we find that not 'tending' to a yard is actually very time rewarding and we still maintain a decent looking lot of grass LOL Very good points you bring about.
